About

I can see you… looking at me. Just staring… (if you’re tapping your foot too, let’s just get to the work.)

So I guess you want to know what you’re I’m doing here.

I am currently a graphic designer in Las Vegas. (more…)

Before that? I graduated from Arkansas State University (INDIANS! um… WOLVES! GO STATE!) in December of 2002, with a degree in Speech Communication, but what do you do with a SCOM degree? Well, I flipped the communication coin and discovered Graphic Design, and picked up a fast, yet hefty minor in it.

By July of 2003, I realized I needed to massage my understanding of my craft, and so I moved to Atlanta to attend the Creative Circus, which is a portfolio school for creative folks like me, looking to get into advertising and design. Loved it, hated it, barely survived sometimes, but I conquered and finally graduated, and then slept for 3 weeks.

So, in July of 2005, at the ripe old age of 26, the grand total of my resume read:

Likes
Making funny faces. Telling long stories. Life. Nailing an idea. Being right. Figuring out I was wrong. Other people’s dogs. Making people laugh. Incomplete or run-on sentences.

Dislikes
Long toenails. Inhumane acts on society. People that can’t communicate. Design without purpose or reason. Pretentiousness. Squishy foods. Homemade commercials for law firms.

Quirks and odditites
Dead-on Janis Joplin imitation. Getting really excited about little things. Being obsessively creative. Being an Arkansas (evidently). Being unintentionally funny.

Why my parents like me
I’m oddly happy 95% of the time. I won a handful of student design awards and got in CMYK magazine. I love the thrill of learning, even it means my education will never end. I’m “intense” without being aggressive or angry.

I think I’ll always be most proud of this resume, I hope it will suit me for years to come.

Now, get those eyes moving! Lots more to stare at, lots more to see.
