Moving in.

So, it is finished. but not even close :) it took about 4 hours with a ninja elevator door and a ox-drawn elevator!  (REALLLY fast-closing door, and REALLLLY slow moving elevator.) but everything is in, and mostly unboxed.

A lot of hard work later, I still have SO much stuff to put away and organize. I’m installing pull out bins for the shelves in the kitchen, so everything is on the countertops. I have NO idea where I’m going to put all my books, so they are all still in boxes and the shelves are still in pieces.

See? Quite messy and unorganized. So Far…

I am also trying to work out the laundry situation. Seems the planning of the laundry room didn’t take into account front-loading washers/dryers. :) but a solution is on the horizon, and it IS manageable, if not totally convenient (note the pile of laundry in front of the tv and the sheet-less bed.)

BUT here’s one of the reasons I picked this place:

Sweet!

And it looks like my appliances are going in too! :D

condo update.

I went to the condo today to check on the progress. I thought all the flooring would be in, but we’ve had some odd weather here, and the wood floors are still acclimating. :( maybe next week. And the carpet is the last piece, so it’s obviously not in.

BUT my subway tile is in. I am in love, it really looks great, I think they did a great job!

Ack! I love it. I think it breaks the dark granite and cabinets up perfectly, and when the floor is in, it will pick up the highlights great!

BUT, they still have not gotten the backsplash right behind the sink! It’s still granite, with the ugly, straight edge. Now that I see the subway tile, it looks REALLY wrong to me, so it must go!P1000044

The tile in the bathrooms is in, it looks great as well, and it will look awesome with the carpet.

And finally, some pretty good pictures of the kitchen cabinetry, and very dirty, dusty granite.

Thats all for now. The countdown is on! April 1st, here I come!

rubbernecking my way through life

So over the Christmas holiday, I set up my site as a blog… with the thought that I’d actually blog.

Well, it’s March. I’m woefully behind, but it’s been a busy 3 months with not a ton to display or talk about. Not to mention, my camera is OFFICIALLY on it’s last leg.

This is in a fully lit, bright and sunshiny room. (Those are my kitchen cabinets, by the way)

But, my condo is finished on April 1. No joke (pun intended). So, soon, there will be lots of pictures (new camera) and discussions about all of that. Hang tight.

Some pictures from a recent dinner with friends to tide you over until then.

This is Victoria, Joe, and Greg Casey, a former MGM’er who is now in Denver. (the reason for the dinner)

Saporro 014
This is why Greg’s entertaining (the crazy eyes, not the beverage)

Saporro 008
Vic and Brenda. I am pretty sure she’s giving Steven the evil eye.

Saporro 002
Because he refuses to pose for a picture.

And proof that a bad angle can ruin a good pic :)
